David Tibbals

President
In 1994, David E. Tibbals began his Charlotte career in land as a landscape architect.  In 2004, David shifted to various executive land acquisition roles with national homebuilders. He has contracted over $50MM in assets with private developers, banks, local and national homebuilders. He started Charlotte Commercial Partners Inc. (CCP) to build a team of partners to deliver value in the Charlotte metro region. David’s work experience has included market analysis, land development budgeting, initial review and final pro-forma creation, and asset management of land portfolios in excess of $85MM.
As a registered landscape architect, David served with two engineering firms as Planning Division Leader in North & South Carolina. He managed and mentored multi-disciplined consultant teams delivering innovative and complex multi-million dollar projects including: The Village of Baxter Town Center, Park and Ride facilities for the City of Charlotte Area Transportation System (CATS), Lakemont Business Park and various residential projects totaling over 15,000 units in the region.
In July of 2013, David was appointed by the Mecklenburg County Commission to serve on the Citizen’s Capital Budget Advisory Committee (CCBAC). He was invited back in 2017 to chair the CCBAC and continues to serve through 2021.
David graduated with a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia in 1992 and is a licensed Broker in North and South Carolina.

Jim Pryor

Jim Pryor is a Senior Advisor at Charlotte Commercial Partners, and joined the team in November of 2017. As a former combat veteran, and former police officer in the area, Jim is dedicated to providing unsurpassed services to his real estate clients.

After serving in the military, Jim served as a police officer in the Charlotte area. In both endeavors, he discovered the value of integrity, the importance of teamwork, and developed an impressive work ethic. His career as a commercial real estate broker has been based on those principals. He works tirelessly for his clients and is passionate about helping businesses discover the countless opportunities that the Carolinas have to offer. Jim is licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina.

David Hepp

David Hepp joined Charlotte Commercial Partners in November of 2017.

David focuses on tenant representation throughout the Charlotte and surrounding region and has been involved in a wide variety of leasing assignments. David’s market knowledge and attention to detail has earned him early success in his real estate career.

Prior to entering commercial real estate, David was on the USA Canoe/Kayak Team for 10 years, 3x Olympic Alternate, 2x National Champion, and a World Cup Medalist. After graduating with a B.A. in History from Western Carolina University, David owned and operated two retail stores to support his athletic career. David moved to Charlotte with his family in 2006 to open and operate the U.S. National Whitewater Center. David was then recruited in 2015 to lead a $45 million whitewater center project for the city of Oklahoma City and retuned to Charlotte in 2017. David brings a wealth of design and operational knowledge to any community outdoor recreation project and continues to serve as an operational consultant for recreation projects throughout the world.
David holds a real estate license in North and South Carolina.

Jody Forehand

Joel “Jody” Forehand, MBA, LEED AP, DBIA, joined Charlotte Commercial Partners in 2018.  He specializes in mixed-use developments and religious properties, with a primary focus of helping churches maximize their real estate assets. This includes the sale or purchase of existing properties, property searches for a new main campus or multisite location (including off-market solicitations), subdividing excess property to generate revenue, and bringing interested third-party buyers, investors, and developers together with landowners.

Jody has been working nationally on mixed-use commercial, healthcare, and religious projects since 1992 providing development advisory services, real estate consulting, and managing the design and construction of everything from tenant improvement projects in repurposed commercial locations to new ground-up developments on greenfield sites. Jody has a degree in architecture from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Averett University, and also holds general contractor’s licenses in several states including North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.  Jody is licensed in both North and South Carolina.

Desiree Howell

Desiree Howell was born in Boston, but grew up in the Carolinas. She specializes in Multifamily Development & Acquisitions as well as retail development in the Charlotte, NC area. Having attended Anderson University in Anderson, SC she majored in Business Administration and minored in Marketing. She was formally a National Marketing Director and has traveled across the country consulting in the marketing arena within various verticals. Desiree helped launch one of the first fitness trackers for animals in the US.

As a marketing consultant, she realized that she had a passion for helping businesses grow and enjoyed consulting with executives on their real estate decisions. After being persuaded by her father, a multifamily investor, to get into real estate, she began working for a developer in Charlotte.

Desiree enjoys the outdoors, live music, and traveling. She’s the mother to Ava Claire, 9, and her dog, Pix, a lab terrier.

Merrill Tibbals

Merrill Tibbals

Merrill started her career in Charlotte working for First Citizens Bank in the early 1990’s.  She worked in commercial, consumer and mortgage lending.  After a hiatus to stay home with her children, she worked in mortgage lending at Myers Park Mortgage, and in commercial client management at Suntrust Banks, both in Charlotte, NC.  More recently, she worked at Carolina Alliance Bank for 7 years as a Professional Banker, serving as a relationship manager for commercial and consumer clients.  She has worked for Charlotte Commercial Partners since its inception as a controller/VP.

Merrill graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and is a native of North Carolina.
